Q: What is Valley Home Educators (VHE)?
A: Valley Home Educators is a Christ-centered homeschool community that connects and supports homeschooling families through field trips, social
activities, family events, and opportunities to build relationships with other homeschool families.
Q: Is VHE a co-op?
A: No. VHE is not a traditional homeschool co-op and does not provide regular academic classes. We do not meet on a certain day each week or have one particular meeting location. Instead, VHE is a flexible homeschool community where families plan activities based on their own interests and availability.
Q: What kinds of activities does VHE offer?
A: VHE has just a few annual events that are organized each year, including Kick-Off Picnic, Skate Days, Winter Pool Day, Craft Bazaar, Mom’s Brunch, Used Curriculum Sale, and Field Day. Beyond those annual events, the VHE calendar is shaped by our member families! Families are encouraged to choose activities that interest them and host them when it works for their own schedules. Because our activities are member-driven, what VHE offers can look a little different each year depending on the interests and involvement of our families.
Q: Who plans VHE activities?
A: VHE is a member-supported community, which means our activities are made possible by our families! When you join VHE, you can choose the type of activity you would like to help organize by joining one of our committees:

• Field Trips & Activities
• Mom’s Brunch

• Retirement Community Outreach
Each committee is supported by a VHE Board Member who can help along the way. You can plan an event on your own or team up with another family. No event-planning experience needed—just choose an area that interests you and get involved!
Q: Do members have to organize an event?
A: Yes. Each VHE family is asked to organize at least one event during the year. We can also help members who need ideas or aren't sure how to get started.
Q: Is VHE a Christian organization?
A: Yes. VHE is a Christ-centered homeschool organization. Members are required to read and agree to VHE's Statement of Faith as part of the
membership process.
Q: Can I join if I'm new to homeschooling?
A: Absolutely! VHE is a great way to meet other homeschool families, ask questions, and start building connections in the local homeschool community.
Q: What ages are included?
A: VHE includes families with children of a variety of ages, from younger children through high school. Individual activities may sometimes be geared toward particular ages but in general most include all ages.
Q: Do I have to attend every event?
A: No. Families can choose the activities that work for their schedules and interests. However, we encourage you to show up when you can even if an activity isn’t necessarily your thing. The more you participate, the more opportunities you’ll have to meet other families, build friendships, and feel
connected. VHE is also a great opportunity to try something new.
Q: Is the Facebook group the same as being a VHE member?
A: No. The Facebook group is a place to learn more about VHE and see general information about our community. Access to the VHE member calendar, private event details, and member-only/VHE-sponsored activities requires an active VHE membership.
Q: How much does membership cost?
A: VHE membership is $35 per family per year for the entire family.
Q: Can I join after the school year has already started?
A: Yes! VHE enrollment is open throughout the year, so families don't have to wait until the beginning of a new school year to join.
Q: What is expected of VHE members?
A: Members are expected to agree with VHE's Statement of Faith, complete their annual membership registration and fee, help contribute to the community by organizing at least one activity, and participate in a way that helps create a welcoming and supportive homeschool community.
Q: How do I become a member?
A: Complete the VHE membership registration on our website (www.vheweb.org), agree to the Statement of Faith, and pay the annual $35
family membership fee. Once your membership is approved, you'll have access to member information and activities.
Q: What if I have an idea for an activity but don't know how to organize it?
A: That's okay! We want members to feel equipped to participate. If you have an idea but need some direction, reach out to any of the board members. We can help you figure out the next steps and turn your idea into an activity for the group.
Q: What makes VHE different from simply finding homeschool events online?
A: VHE is about more than filling a calendar. Our goal is to build a Christ-centered homeschool community where families contribute, connect, form friendships, and create opportunities for one another throughout the year.
